Spending 16 of their 19 years in an 1800 square foot building proved to be problematic as this interior design firm grew beyond the confines of the space. Moving into their new home with 3800 square feet of showroom and office space that they designed was an ideal solution. As plans developed the end result was to utilize as many interior products as possible to show clients the visual effects and still look well put together.

The entry welcomes with 12 x 12 tiles surrounding a 36" mosaic medallion. This tiled area begins the use of varied flooring throughout with Brazilian Cherry in the kitchen showroom, carpeting in the carpet area and offices, and coordinating tiles in the tile display room. Four oak stairtreads are stained to mimic the Brazilian Cherry and has a carpet runner. Carpeting continues wall to wall up the remaining stairs and throughout the second floors.

The main cabinet area has multiple styles and stains to show options, accessories and hardware. The Black Galaxy granite counter pulls it together. Laminate displays, additional cabinet doors, and a freestanding granite display rack complete the area. Two backsplash tiles were installed to show style, pattern, and dimensions. One side is further enhanced by two types of undercounter lighting. Additional cabinet displays are found throughout all of the other rooms that double as desk, tables, built-ins, and working stations. These areas have different countertop materials with a variety of edge details.

Multiple styles of moldings have been installed throughout to show clients the possibilities from Arts & Crafts to Bellyband casing with Rosettes. All areas have been painted with the tile room stained. The paint throughout is the first that Aura from Benjamin Moore was utilized in the area. Various finishes and colors were coordinated with the flooring and each other to create a tasteful yet colorful environment.

The tile room has a neo- angle shower to display a shampoo inserts, shower pan, and tiled seat. A stationary and handheld shower head finish this corner and sit across the room from the fireplace. The surround is Black Galaxy granite and has a cherry mantel with matching cherry built-ins from one of their cabinet manufacturers. Tile display racks abound and with the Cambria topped table this room also serves as a large meeting space.

While the first floor was set up to display samples and examples of cabinets, flooring, lighting, and plumbing fixtures, the second floor has been geared towards the accessory side of interior design. The large workroom gets natural lighting from 2 skylights. A twelve foot worktable helps clients and designers work on the fabrics, wallpaper, and window treatments that are displayed throughout the room. The last area is a smaller workroom for commercial usage with catalogs, carpet samples, and wallcovering.

The result is a wonderful space to work and design in, a place that this company is thrilled to have builder's and their clients come make their dreams come true.
